Araceli Canchola- Counselor of Educational Options

I see school counselors as facilitators of change in students and the school environment.  Student needs should be met as they face challenges in the various areas of their lives including academic development, dealing with personal and social issues, selecting a college, or deciding on a career. I also consider student advocacy a part of my role.

I believe that a good school counseling program is built upon measurable student competencies, advocacy, leadership, accountability, evaluation, professional development, and team collaboration. School counselors are part of a community of educators that consists of individuals who serve students in a variety of positions. It is vital to have effective communication with the entire community of educators.
