Posted Date: 10/21/26 (11:00 AM)

Dear Families,

We are writing to inform you that students will have the opportunity to participate in an additional educational presentation on sexual health and healthy relationships delivered by a qualified guest speaker.

Under the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA), schools must provide comprehensive sexual health education and HIV prevention education at least once in middle school and once in high school. While many students received this instruction in 9th grade, this presentation is being offered to ensure that all students, including those who may have missed prior instruction, have access to important health information in a supportive and age-appropriate setting.

Presentation Topics Include:

  • Healthy relationships, consent, and personal boundaries

  • Communication skills

  • Contraception and pregnancy prevention

  • Sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV prevention

  • Decision-making and access to health resources

Instruction will be medically accurate, age-appropriate, inclusive, and aligned with California state guidelines.

Date of Presentation: October 27th and October 28th
Location: CCHS -
Presenter: Cori Resenburg and Tania Majano Escobar

Professional Background: Registered Nurses and BSN Candidates
