CCHS: Community School
Welcome to Our Community School
We’re so happy you’re here! This page highlights the people, programs, and partnerships that make Central Coast High School OUR school.
What is a Community School?
At Central Coast High School, our community school is a place where students, families, staff, and community partners work together so every student has what they need to succeed. When every student feels seen and welcomed, learning becomes possible, potential expands, and equity becomes something we live, not just talk about.
Below you’ll find links that show how CCHS brings our community school vision to life through our goals, playbook, calendar, and resource hub. You’ll also find district links that connect our school’s work to the larger MPUSD Community Schools strategy.

What's Happening At CCHS
At Central Coast High School, students, families, staff, and partners work together so every student feels seen, supported, and connected. All day. Every day. And this is how we are doing just that …

Free Computer and Cell Phone Classes for Adults
We're offering free computer and cell phone classes for adults located right here at Central Coast High School and we would love for you to join us Thursdays starting, 4/28 from 6pm to 7:30pm.

Equine Therapy with Equine Healing Collaborative
Starting January 15, students will participate in a 10 week Equine Therapy program with Equine Healing Collaborative. This experience supports students managing stress, anxiety, anger, big emotions, or feeling disconnected.
Through guided interactions with horses, students practice emotional regulation, trust, communication, and connection in a calm, supportive setting. Equine therapy helps students slow down, build confidence, and reconnect with themselves and others during times of change.

Community Engagement
Student Power Summit
The Student Power Summit was built around student voice, belonging, and partnership. In collaboration with Palenke Arts, students created a video sharing their lived experiences navigating the school system. Their stories set the tone for the entire summit and invited adults to listen differently.
At the heart of the event was a student panel, where students spoke openly about their journey. Their voices created space for connection, understanding, and meaningful dialogue across roles.
This summit was was about listening and creating a space where students felt seen, valued, and heard. The video below captures that moment and the power of centering student voice.
Shine and Show
Our Shine & Show event highlighted the skills our Auto Detailing students have built over the past weeks. Students detailed vehicles for the community and showcased their work with confidence and professionalism. To support their next steps, we raffled off professional tools and supplies that students can use to start or grow their own auto detailing businesses. It was a great celebration of skill, pride, and opportunity at CCHS.
Stories of Belonging
Behind every opportunity at CCHS is a student story that shows what’s possible when support and connection come together. Our latest video features one of our students sharing how the programs at Central Coast have opened doors, built confidence, and helped them see new pathways for their future. Their perspective is a reminder that when students are given real opportunities and meaningful support, they don’t just participate; they thrive.
Watch this 30-second clip to hear one student’s perspective on how opportunities at CCHS have helped him build confidence and discover new pathways for his future.
Belonging Beyond the Classroom
Belonging doesn’t end when the bell rings. It extends into how we care for, connect with, and support our community. Below you’ll find resources, programs, and updates that help make Central Coast High a place where families and partnerships thrive.

Our partnership with Meals on Wheels brings fresh, delicious food straight to our families. Each week, families can pick up free chef-prepared meals, like salmon, chicken teriyaki, pozole, and spring rolls, along with fresh groceries from the Monterey County Food Bank. Stop by Fridays from 1:30 - 3:30 to pick up meals and groceries. Even the pickiest eaters love these meals

Thank you
Thank you for being part of this community. Your presence helps our students feel seen, valued, and connected. One student said it best:
“When you’re here, you feel like someone.”
Every time I hear that, I think of you! The people who make this place feel that way.
